The High Strung is an American rock band from Detroit, Michigan, formed by Josh Malerman, Mark Owen, Chad Stocker, Derek Berk, and, later, Stephen Palmer. After attending Michigan State University together, the members moved to New York City and changed their name from The Masons to The High Strung. Their early releases included Follow Through on Your Backhand (2003) and These Are Good Times (2003). In 2005, they released Moxie Bravo, produced by Jim Diamond in Detroit. Notable albums include Ode to the Inverse of the Dude (2009), Dragon Dicks (2011), and ¿Posible o Imposible? (2012). The band was known for their unconventional tours, including a 2004 tour where they left their broken-down bus at the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in Cleveland.
