Yuugen is a classically-trained pianist, composer, songwriter, producer, and vocalist.
Born in Iran after the Islamic Revolution, Yuugen's family fled the country and claimed political asylum in London. Growing up as a refugee was not easy, but Yuugen found home in music.
"I still remember the first time my fingers touched the keys," he says, of the piano he started playing at the age of 6. "It felt like electricity shooting up my arms."
Over the years Yuugen's path has taken him to many places and many projects, but his love for music has remained constant. Yuugen has composed, produced, and performed in virtually every genre, including classical, gospel, blues, pop, opera, musical theater, and electronic dance music.
Heavily influenced by the likes of Andrew Rayel, Paul van Dyk, Gareth Emery, and Orjan Nilsen, Yuugen's current project focuses on uplifting, melodic, and vocal trance music. He explores love, healing, compassion, vulnerability, and spirituality, uniting his musical acumen with his life experiences.
"I just want to make people feel things," he says. Fitting, given his name means "an awareness of the universe that evokes feelings too deep and mysterious for words."
