14 Bis, a Brazilian pop-rock band, originated in Minas Gerais in 1979 when members of two bands, O Terço and Bendegó, merged to form 14 Bis. Two founding members, Flávio Venturini and Vermelho, also participated in the Clube da Esquina band. The band's name is derived from Santos-Dumont’s 14-Bis airplane. The group achieved success during the 1980s with notable compositions and performances of popular Brazilian songs. Their music incorporated elements of música popular brasileira, progressive rock, and Caipira influences. Albums such as Espelhos das Águas, (1981) A Idade da Luz (1983), and Quatro por Quatro (1992) showcased their complex vocal arrangements and use of analog keyboards. In the late 2000s, they released albums like Nova Bis-14 Bis (2006), Retratos (2006) and the live albums 14 Bis Ao Vivo (2007) and 14 Bis Acústico ao Vivo (2020).
