Thomas Schumacher, born on April 13, 1972, in Bremen, Germany, is a German record producer and DJ known for his contributions to electronic dance music (EDM), electronic music, and techno. In 1993, Thomas Schumacher began his career by producing five maxi-CDs with Ilker Yilmaz under the name NIP Collective, followed by numerous performances before their collaboration ended in 1997. That year, he launched the Elektrochemie LK project while continuing to release music under his own name. A demo tape led to the production of "Ficken No. 3" by the British label Bush Records, which sold fifteen thousand copies and became a club hit. In 1998, Thomas Schumacher released his debut album Electric Ballroom on Bush Records, featuring tracks like "Lust" and "Eighties." He also founded Spiel-Zeug Schallplatten, releasing productions from artists such as Clemens Neufeld, Umek, and Adam Beyer. Notable collaborations include producing music for a Hamlet production at the Bonner Schauspielhaus with Jens Mahlstedt and Ilker Yilmaz. In 2001, Thomas Schumacher released the album Gold under Elektrochemie LK, which included the track "Tainted Schall." He has also created remixes for artists like Frankie Goes to Hollywood, Monika Kruse, Afrika Bambaataa, and Chicks on Speed. Throughout his career, Thomas Schumacher received multiple Dance Music Awards in 2000, including Best National Vinyl Sales Hit and Best Video for "Schall."
