Uncle Lucius, an American rock band from Austin, Texas, has garnered a devoted following due to their distinctive blend of classic rock, blues, soul, and country music. The band's journey began in 2002 when Kevin Galloway, then a banking professional, opted to follow his passion for music. Leaving his stable career, he moved to Austin, becoming a regular performer at local open-mic nights. As he made his mark on the local music scene, Kevin Galloway met Hal Vorpahl, a fellow musician and a devoted Willie Nelson fan. The duo soon began creating music together, and within a year, they evolved into a trio by welcoming Mike Carpenter, a classic rock aficionado and a well-established player in the Austin music scene. The inaugural band lineup was rounded off with the addition of drummer Jason Armstrong, and Uncle Lucius rapidly found themselves playing to full houses at renowned Austin venues like the Saxon Pub, Threadgill's, and Antone's. In 2006, Uncle Lucius independently released their debut album, Something They Ain't. During the creation of their second album, drummer Josh Greco stepped in to replace Jason Armstrong. This second album, Pick Your Head Up, emerged in 2009, contributing to the band's escalating popularity. The same year, they unveiled the live album, Live at the Saxon Pub (2010). Uncle Lucius's third album, And You Are Me (2012), features songs such as "Keep the Wolves Away," one of the band's most recognized tracks. In 2015, the band successfully crowdfunded the recording of their album, The Light.
