Biografia

R&B, hip-hop and neo-soul singer / songwriter Kehlani Ashley Parrish - born April 24th, 1995, on Oakland, California – is better known by her stage name Kehlani. She first gained attention as a member of the pop group Poplyfe, who appeared on the television series America's Got Talent in 2011. She left the group to pursue a solo career and released a mixtape titled Cloud 19 in 2014. She toured with rapper G-Eazy and, in 2015, released her second mixtape, You Should Be Here, which reached Number 2 on Billboard's Top R&B Albums Chart and earned a Grammy nomination for Best Urban Contemporary Album. Her debut album, SweetSexySavage (2017), topped the chart, reaching Number 2 on the R&B/Hip-Hop Chart. Her 2016 track “Gangsta” went to Number 6 on the Hot R&B Songs Chart and Number 13 on the Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs Chart, “CRZY” (2016) peaked at Number 11 on the R&B Songs Chart and “Distraction” (2016) reached Number 13. “Good Life” (2017) with G-Eazy went to Number 8 and she featured on Cardi B's “Ring,” which went to Number 17 on the R&B/Hip-Hop Chart. Kehlani collaborated with Lil Yachty on Calvin Harris's “Faking It” (2017), peaking at Number 7 on the R&B Songs Chart. She released a single and video titled “Nights Like This” featuring rapper Ty Dolla $ign in January 2019. After enjoying a run of high-profile collaborations with EDM producer Zedd, R&B singer Teyana Taylor and pop superstar Justin Bieber and giving birth to her second child, she returned in May 2020 with her second album, It Was Good Until it Wasn’t. Boasting collaborations with fellow US R&B heavyweight Jhené Aiko, multi-instrumentalist Masego and British singer-songwriter James Blake among others, it entered the Billboard 200 at Number 2—a new personal best. In April 2022, Kehlani released her third full-length album, Blue Water Road, which featured guest appearances from Justin Bieber, Thundercat, Jessie Reyez, Ambré, Blxst, and Syd. The album featured the singles “Altar,” “Little Story,” “Up at Night,” and “Everything.”
