Randy Ariel Ortiz Acevedo (July 16, 1983, San Juan, Puerto Rico) began his musical career in 2001, previously being a chorister in a church in Puerto Rico, for which he developed an original, slow and melodic style when singing. He comes from a family used to listening to R&B, blues and soul through groups and artists like The Jackson Five, Lionel Richie and Michael Jackson. Randy had his first big opportunity to record his first song entitled "Feel it woman" on the 2001 album Operation Sandunga, advised by Jowell, who insisted that his partner participate in the compilation. On the album, he was expected to be part of the radio and video promotion, but a few days after his departure, the record's producer, Edgardo Villanueva, was kidnapped and murdered, and everything related to his album was canceled.
