WANIMA is a Japanese three-piece rock band from Tokyo, Japan, comprising musicians Kenta, Ko-shin and Fuji. After the disbandment of his previous band, Hanima, Kenta moved from Kumamoto to Tokyo, forming WANIMA in 2010, and the group released their demo, HELLO!! MY NAME IS… in April 2013, followed by their next demo, Feelings rip, gaining momentum via a tour of the Tokai, Kansai, and Kanto regions. In August, they announced their contract with Pizza of Death Records and in October, released their debut studio album Can Not Behaved!!, before touring 33 venues nationwide, concluding with a final show at Shibuya O-WEST. Making an appearance at various festivals including PUNKSPRING, SATANIC CARNIVAL'15, JOIN ALIVE, ROCK IN JAPAN FESTIVAL 2015, SUMMER SONIC 2015, SWEET LOVE SHOWER, RUSH BALL and WILD BUNCH FEST, they released their first single, "Think That..." on August 5, 2015, followed by their second album Are You Coming?, a few months later, which landed at number 4 on the Oricon album chart. On August 3 the following year, they released their 2nd single, "JUICE UP!!" (used as the official song of the Japanese release of the film Ant-Man & The Wasp) preceding the JUICE UP!! TOUR, which culminated in a final show at Saitama Super Arena on March 19, 2017, seeing the concert DVD achieve their first-ever Number 1 position on the Oricon charts. On May 17, they released their 3rd single, "Gotta Go!!," which marked their first release under unBORDE label. With no signs of slowing down, their next album Everybody!! (2018), sold 126,000 copies in the first week and topped the Oricon weekly album chart. The following year saw the release of non-album singles "Good Job!!" and "Summer Trap!!" delighting fans with new album COMINATCHA!! shortly after, which sold 72,524 copies in the first week and propelled them once more to the top of the charts. Postponing their 2020 tour due to the COVID-19 pandemic, they continued to release digital singles "Haru o Matte" and "Milk" followed by second mini-album, Cheddar Flavor, before returning in 2021 with "Chilly Chili Sauce," "Tabidachi no Mae ni," "Chopped Grill Chicken" and full length album Fresh Cheese Delivery. WANIMA returned to touring in March 2022, recording "Anohi, Anobasho" soon after, which featured on the the soundtrack to television drama Nanba MG5. September 2023 saw the release of new track “FLY & DIVE” with new album Catch Up, appearing the following month.
