A respected Japanese
composer for film and television, Yutaka Yamada was born March 14, 1989 in
Tokyo. After studying composition in college, he got his break in the world of
soundtracks with the 2011 television series Marumo no Okite. In 2013 his
work could be heard in the theme song of the anime series Soul Reviver.
The song “Glass Sky”, which was the theme for the 2014 series Tokyo
Ghoul, became a huge hit that was later sampled by the best-selling rapper
Eminem. He continued to work steadily in Japanese films, even after relocating
to the United States in 2017. He enjoyed Japanese pop hits with NIKIIE (“Take
My Hand”) and Julia Shortreed (“Never Let Me Go”). Additionally he composed
popular jingles for multinational corporations like Coca-Cola and Audi. In 2021
he was back on the Japanese charts with his work for the television series Promise
Cinderella.
