Biografie

Bodh'aktan is a Canadian band whose music blends Celtic traditions with more modern influences, including hard rock, punk, country, and folk. The band formed in Québec in 2011. Bassist Robert Langlois, drummer Eric Gousy, violinist Jonathan Moorman, accordionist Éric Tanguay, guitarist/flutist Alexandre Richard, and guitarist Alain Barriault comprised the group's original lineup, with all six cofounders sharing vocal duties. Au Diable Les Remords…, a French-language album, marked Bodh'aktan's official debut later that year and received a Félix Award nomination for "Quebec Rock Album of the Year." The band toured internationally before releasing a second album, 2013's Tant Qu'il Restera Du Rhum, whose single La Sainte Nitouche enjoyed airplay on radio stations across Quebec. Bodh'aktan also recorded English-language versions of the album's tracks and released them on the band's first English album, Against Winds and Tides, which also appeared in 2013. A second album of English material, Mixtape (Covers), followed in 2015, featuring a revised lineup that included newcomers Marc Angers and Luc Bourgeois. One year later, the band's self-titled album Bodh'aktan received a nomination at the ADISQ award show for "Rock Album of the Year." Albums like 2018's Ride Out the Storm, 2019's De temps et de Vents, and 2021's Live - De Part Et D'Autre De L'Atlantique followed, and the band was later awarded a gold certification for its 2011 debut, Au Diable Les Remords…, in 2023.
