A pop singer from Russia, Zara was born Zarifa Mgoyan in Leningrad (now Saint Petersburg) on July 26, 1983. In 1995, at the age of 12, she started her collaboration with the musician and composer Oleg Kvasha with whom she recorded songs that brought her first fame - « Сердце Джульетты » ("The Heart of Juliette"), « Именно сегодня » ("Just Today") and « Колыбельная » ("Lullaby"). Zara’s first album Сердце Джульетты (The Heart of Juliette), released in 1999 and named after her first single, is followed in the next year by « Зара » ("Zara"). In the meantime, Zara has started a rather successful theatrical and film career. Her fame was heated by her appearance on the Factory of Stars-6 TV show in 2006, which resulted in the signing of a deal with the famous music producer Viktor Drobysh. In 2007, to support her album Не оставляй меня одну (Don’t Leave Me Alone), Zara launched her first tour around the country. The success was accompanied by the release of a new hit « Небо на двоих » ("Sky for Two"). In 2017, she got a special award from Muz TV Music Awards for her duet with Andrea Bocelli. Some of Zara’s biggest hits are « С понедельника » ("From Monday") in 2019, « Недолюбила » ("Haven’t Loved Enough") in 2009, and « Мир вашему дому » (Peace to Your Home) in 2020. Throughout her career, Zara has received several Golden Gramophone Awards, with tracks named Song of the Year, and in 2016, the singer was awarded the title Honored Artist of the Russian Federation.
