Patent Ochsner are a Swiss folk rock band founded in 1990 by guitarist and singer Büne Huber. The band's personnel and therefore mix of instruments has changed several times over the years as they have regularly topped the Swiss Album Charts. Their first album 'Schlachtplatte' was released in 1991 and reached number two in the charts. This was followed in 1993 by 'Fischer', which went to number one. The band signed a record deal with BMG in 1995 and released the albums 'Gmües' in 1995 and 'Stella Nova' in 1997. During this period, Patent Ochsner had three top 20 hit singles in the Swiss Singles Charts with 'Jänner' in 1994, 'Jacques' in 1995 and 'W. Nuss vo Bümpliz' in 1996.
The release of live album 'Wilbbolz und Süsstrunk' in 1998 was followed by a period of inactivity for the band as their next studio album 'Trybguet' was not released until 2003. They released two hit singles from this album, 'Brandstifter and the title track 'Trybguet'. The album topped the Swiss Album Charts and the band moved from BMG to 'Muve Records' to release 'Liebi, Tod und Tüüfu' in 2005, followed by a move to 'Universal' in 2008 to release 'Rimini Flashdown'. Both of these albums also topped the Swiss Album Charts.
Patent Ochsner released three more live albums, 'Bundesplatz' in 2010, 'Gurten 2015 Live' in 2015 and 'Strange Fruits - Unique Moments - Live im Landesmuseum' in 2017. Their latest single, 'Für Immer Uf Di' was originally meant to be included on the album 'Stella Nova' but was actually not released until March 2019.
