Biography

The American metal band Tetrarch began
in 2007 in Atlanta, Georgia. It was then that singer and rhythm guitarist Josh Rowe
combined with lead guitarist Diamond Rowe, one of the few female African-American
artists on the metal scene. That duo would form the heart of the group, which
would undergo several lineup changes in the rhythm section over the first
couple of years. Inspired by Metalica and Megadeath, the group specialized in a
hard-thrashing, yet undeniably melodic style of heavy metal. They gained
traction in their local music scene, and released their debut EP, 2008’s Pravda.
The next year, Ryan Lerner became the band’s bass player, and they toured more
of the American south promoting the single “Disciplines of Sorrow”. The
2011 EP Will to Fight, with the single “We Are the Hunters”,
started to get them national publicity among metal enthusiasts. They continued
to tour, often opening for big acts and settling the stage for 2013’s Relentless
EP. They continued to tour steadily, building an audience hungry for the debut
LP, 2018’s Freak. Their 2020 single “I’m Not Right” landed them
at number 27 on the Mainstream Rock Songs chart, and the follow-up single, “You
Never Listen”
, also cracked that chart’s top 40. Both appeared on the 2021
album Unstable.
