Scooch, a British dance group composed of Natalie Powers, Caroline Barnes, David Ducasse, and Russ Spencer, was formed in 1998. The band gained significant attention when they were selected to represent the United Kingdom at the Eurovision Song Contest 2007 in Helsinki, Finland with their song "Flying the Flag (For You)". Despite finishing twenty-second, tied with France, the song reached number 5 on the UK Singles Chart on May 13, 2007. Prior to their Eurovision appearance, Scooch released several singles, including "More Than I Needed to Know" (January 10, 2000), "For Sure" (July 24, 2000), and "The Best Is Yet To Come" (2000), all of which were included on their debut album Four Sure, released on August 7, 2000. "Flying the Flag (For You)" was released as a non-album single in 2007. Scooch's journey to Eurovision began with their selection through a public vote, marking a pivotal moment in their career. The group's participation in the contest brought them into the international spotlight, albeit briefly. Following their Eurovision performance, Scooch did not release any new material, although they continued performing live. Their ability to blend electronic music with catchy pop melodies resonated with audiences, contributing to their chart success. The group's impact was notable not only for their musical achievements but also for their representation of the UK at one of Europe's most prestigious music events.
