Biography

By bridging the gap between guitar-driven alternative rock and modern-day blues, Palace became a popular act on the British and American festival circuits during the 2010s and early 2020s. The group formed in London, England, in 2012. Bandmates Leo Wyndham, Rupert Turner, Matt Hodges, and Will Dorey made their recorded debut with 2014's Lost in the Night, then followed that EP with another EP, Chase the Light, in 2015. So Long Forever, Palace's full-length debut, arrived in 2016, featuring viral hits like "Live Well" and "Better." Dorey left the group's roster one year later and launched the solo project Skinshape, with Palace choosing to move forward as a three-piece band. Life After, the group's first release as a trio, was released in 2019, followed by Shoals in 2022. For their next project, the band reunited with producer Adam Jaffrey, who had previously teamed up with Palace for the 2016 debut So Long Forever. The songs that emerged from that collaboration appeared on a pair of companion EPs, Part I – When Everything Was Lost and Part II – Nightmares & Ice Cream, in 2023. Songs from both EPs also appeared on Palace's fourth full-length record, Ultrasound, which debuted at number 78 in the UK upon its 2024 release.
