Biography

Best known as a member of New Kids on the Block (NKOTB), Jordon Knight has maintained a solo recording career outside of the band. In 1984, Jordan, who was 13 at the time, and his brother Jonathan were chosen as members of a new boy-band under the guidance of producer/songwriter Maurice Starr. Between 1986 and 1994, NKOTB released five Gold and Platinum studio albums and numerous hit singles including nine Top 20 tracks including three Number Ones: “I’ll Be Loving You (Forever)”, “Hangin’ Tough”, and “Step by Step”. NKOTB split in 1994, and Knight pursued a solo career. His first solo album, Jordan Knight, was released in 1999, reaching the Number 29 position on the Billboard Top 200 Albums chart and going Gold in the process. The album featured production from Jimmy Jam & Terry Lewis as well as future hitmaker Robin Thicke. The self-titled album featured the Number 5 hit single “Give It to You”, as well as a cover version of Prince’s “I Could Never Take The Place of Your Man”. In 2004, he released the remix album Jordan Knight Performs New Kids on the Block, which was followed by an EP in 2005 entitled The Fix. The album Love Songs was in 2006, which included “Say Goodbye”, his hit duet with Deborah Gibson. NKOTB reunited in 2007 and released the album The Block (2008). Knight continued to work on his next solo album, releasing Unfinished in 2011, which reached Number 48 in the U.S. NKOTB spent 2012 and 2013 touring with Backstreet Boys (BSB). This venture inspired the eventual release of a collection, NKOTBSB (2011) and a collaboration album with BSB’s Nick Carter entitled Nick & Knight. He continued to record and tour with NKOTB, releasing the album 10 in 2013 and the Thankful EP in 2017. Outside of his music career, he has appeared on numerous reality-based television series including American Juniors (a spin-off of American Idol), Hit Me Baby One More Time, The Surreal Life, and others.
