A soulful, funky pop band rooted in upbeat grooves and an eclectic range of influences, The Revivalists have marked themselves as Southern rock favourites with a reputation as a swaggering live band. The band formed in New Orleans, Louisiana, in 2007, when frontman David Shaw was cycling home and discovered guitarist Zack Freiberg sitting on his front porch singing an original song called "Purple Heart." The pair quickly became friends, leading to gigs in small, sweaty clubs and a debut album, Vital Signs, in 2010. The Revivalists built their reputation as a good-time jam band, touring with Rebirth Brass Band before returning to the studio for 2014's City of Sound, which was influenced by the Allman Brothers, The Beatles and Stevie Wonder. Men Amongst Mountains followed in 2015, bringing with it a double-platinum hit ("Wish I Knew You," which reached Number 1 on the Adult Alternative Airplay chart in America while also cracking the Top 10 in multiple European countries) and a Top 20 debut on the Alternative Albums chart. In 2018, "All My Friends" became the band's second Adult Alternative Airplay chart-topper in a row, followed by the number 2 hit "Change" later that year. Both songs appeared on the album Take Good Care. After releasing the EPs Made In Muscle Shoals (2020) and Made In Muscle Shoals Vol. 2 (2022), The Revivalists reached Number 1 on the Adult Alternative Airplay chart for a third time with "Kid," the lead single from 2023's Pour It Out into the Night.
