Biography

Creeper is a British rock band whose albums combine elements of punk, glam, and emo with dark, gothic imagery. The group formed in 2014 in Southhampton, Hampshire. Singer Will Gould, bassist Sean Scott, guitarists Ian Miles and Sina Nemati, and drummer Dan Bratton made their debut with a self-titled EP in 2014, earning a growing fanbase as well as a contract from Roadrunner Records. A second EP, The Callous Heart, was released by the label in 2015, with many critics comparing the band's dark, bewitching music to that of My Chemical Romance and AFI. Sina Nemati left the lineup that same year, with keyboardist Hannah Greenwood and guitarist Oliver Burdett joining in her absence. By the time Creeper's third EP, The Stranger, was released in 2016, the group's reputation had grown considerably, sending the EP to Number 9 on the UK Rock & Metal Albums Chart. Later that year, Creeper was named "Best British Newcomer" at the Kerrang! Awards and "Best New Band" at the Metal Hammer Golden Gods Awards. Eternity, in Your Arms, the band's full-length debut, earned the musicians their first chart-topping title on the UK Rock & Metal chart in 2017, while also charting at Number 17 in Scotland and Number 18 on the UK's all-genre Official Albums Chart. Following the release of a Christmas EP in late 2017, Creeper returned to the top of the British rock charts once again with 2020's Sex, Death & the Infinite Void, which also peaked at Number 4 in Scotland and Number 5 on the UK's Official Albums Chart. Although a global pandemic complicated the band's touring plans, Creeper remained prolific in the studio, releasing a three-track EP of covers, Sounds from the Void, in May 2021, then returning to the top of the rock charts later that summer with another EP, American Noir.
