Saïk, whose real name is Yoann Pierre-Justin, is a French dancehall reggae artist born on March 19, 1987 in Pointe-à-Pitre, Guadeloupe. He grew up in the Mortenol district, where he was influenced by local figures such as Admiral T. At the age of 12, Saïk formed the duo GwadaBoyz with his friend Fredo Deado, performing on the local underground scene. This duo later merged with the group Inertie to create the Mortenol Crew, including artists such as SamX and Ocsen. In 2003, he collaborated with Admiral T on the track"Préjugés" on the Mozaïk Kréyol album, further cementing his reputation. In 2007, Saïk released his first solo album, Face à la réalité, tackling social and political themes. This was followed in 2009 by the street album M-10 Strict, with a more urban sound. In 2013, he released Second Souffle, a 23-track album mixing reggae, dancehall, rap and zouk, with collaborations from artists such as Kenza Farah and Admiral T. In 2019, Saïk unveils the album Magma, including collaborations with artists such as Gato and Hiro. In 2021, he signs with the Play Two label, joining artists such as Gims and Kalash, and releases the single"Oway" in collaboration with Kim. Throughout his career, Saïk has fused Caribbean rhythms with urban influences, establishing himself as a major figure on the West Indian music scene.
