Jann Arden, born Jann Arden Coristine on 27 March 1962 in Calgary, Alberta, Canada, was a singer-songwriter who made significant contributions to pop and alternative music. Her early career began with a series of performances at small venues before she released her debut single "Could I Be Your Girl" in 1993, which marked her breakthrough moment. Jann Arden signed with A&M Records releasing her self-titled album Time for Mercy, but it was not until the release of Living Under June that year that she gained significant attention, propelling hits like "Insensitive" and "Good Mother" to the top ten singles on Canadian charts.
Throughout her career, Jann Arden released notable albums such as Happy?, Blood Red Cherry, Love Is the Only Soldier, Free, and Everything Almost. Her work also featured collaborations with Michael Bublé during his 2005 and 2007 tours. She has won several awards, including MuchMusic Video Awards, Prairie Music Awards, Western Canadian Music Awards, ARIA Awards, the Queen's Diamond Jubilee Medal in 2012, Member of the Order of Canada in 2017, and was inducted into the Canadian Music Hall of Fame in 2021.
