Singer-songwriter, rapper, producer, and fashion designer Jackson Wang (王嘉爾) was born on March 28, 1994, in Hong Kong. The son of professional fencer Wang Ruiji, he enjoyed his fair share of success as part of the Hong Kong national fencing team before being scouted by the South Korean talent agency JYP Entertainment in 2010. In the run-up to the 2012 London Olympics, he was offered a scholarship to practice fencing but chose to move to Seoul to pursue a music career. At the dawn of 2014, he made his official debut with the boy band Got7 on the single "Girls Girls Girls,"  and later the EP, Got It? The young singer increased his popularity by participating in numerous TV shows such as Roommate and Star King before making his first appearance on Chinese TV as the host of the cooking-variety program Go Fridge, also lending his voice to the show's theme song. In 2018, he collaborated with several artists, appearing alongside Tia Ray on "Lucky Rain", Sammi Cheng on "Creo en Mi," and Fei on "Hello," paving the way for his solo career. He released his first album, Mirrors, in 2019, which enjoyed considerable international success, reaching number 32 in the United States. The same year, he featured on GoldLink's "Rumble" and, in 2019, he made a cameo in Boy Story's "Too Busy." After issuing the Lost & Found mixtape in March 2022, Jackson Wang returned later that year with Magic Man, which found the artist experimenting with a wide array of genres, including grunge, R&B, and synth-pop. The album, promoted by the singles "Blow " and "Cruel," reached number 15 on the Billboard charts and number 46 in South Korea.
