Biografía

Edith Márquez is a Latin pop singer and television star who embarked upon a solo career after logging multiple years as a member of the platinum-selling group Timbiriche. Born in Puebla, Mexico, on January 27, 1973, she made her television debut at five years old, when she won the singing competition Juguemos a Cantar. She won a similar television competition, Canta, Canta, in 1984. While starring in the Mexican soap opera Papá soltero, Edith Márquez was asked to replace Mariana Garza in the pop group Timbiriche. She remained with Timbiriche throughout the late-'80s and early-'90s, appearing on platinum-certified albums like Timbiriche VIII & IX and Los Clásicos de Timbiriche. She then launched her solo career with 1998's Frente a Ti, which was released by Warner Music and included popular singles like "Por Hablarle de Tí" and "Mírame." Edith Márquez continued releasing solo albums throughout the following two decades, peaking at Number 5 on the Mexican pop charts with 2007's Memorias del Corazón and beginning a new partnership with Sony Music with 2011's Amar No Es Suficiente. She maintained her presence on Mexican television, too, and appeared on the tenth season of La Voz as a coach in 2021. That same year, she also released the solo album Entiende Que Ya.
