David Darnell Brown, who goes by the name Young Buck, is an American hip-hop performer who began rapping as a teenager in his hometown of Memphis, Tennessee. He had a stint with fellow rapper Juvenile in UTP Playas and then performed with 50 Cent's G-Unit group. His first solo effort, 'Da Underground Vol. 1' (2004), went to number 22 on Billboard's Top Rap Albums Chart and number 34 on the Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums Chart. He followed up with 'Young Buck' (2004), 'Straight Outta Ca$hville' (2004), 'T.I.P.' (2005), 'Buck the World' (2007), 'The Rehab' (2010) and '10 Bullets' (2015).

His 2004 single 'Shorty Wanna Ride' went to number six on the Hot Rap Songs Chart and number eight on the Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs Chart and he featured with Eightball and MJG on Three 6 Mafia's 'Stay Fly' which reached number three on the Rap Singles Chart and number nine on the R&B/Hip-Hop Songs Chart. He also featured on Lil Scrappy's 'Money in the Bank' which peaked at number five on the Rap Chart and number seven on the R&B/Hip-Hop Chart. He has had run-ins with law enforcement and spent a term in prison following weapons charges in 2015. His 2018 schedule included appearances at venues in California, Maryland and Wisconsin.
