Future Sound of Melbourne, also known as FSOM, is an Australian electronic music trio formed in Melbourne in 1990 by Davide Carbone, Josh Abrahams, and Steve Robbins. The group released their first singles "Meglamania" and "Shivaratri" in 1992 and 1993 respectively. In October 1995, FSOM released their debut album Chapter One, which won the ARIA Award for Best Dance Release at the ARIA Music Awards of 1996. Abrahams left the group in 1995 to pursue a solo career under the name Puretone. Carbone relocated to the United Kingdom in 1998 and established BS1 Records. In June 1999, FSOM released their second album Prologue. The duo of Carbone and Robbins performed at the Roskilde Festival in Denmark later that year.
