Fluid Ounces, a piano-based power pop band from Murfreesboro, Tennessee, was formed in 1994 by Seth Timbs. The group initially consisted of Timbs on vocals and keyboards, along with Ben Morton on bass, Elijah Shaw on guitar, Sam Baker on drums, and Brian "Tha B" Rogers on guitar. Their debut album, Big Notebook for Easy Piano, was released in June 1997 under Spongebath Records and received critical acclaim, earning a nomination for Rock Album of the Year by the Nashville Music Association. The band's follow-up, In the New Old-Fashioned Way (1999), featured the minor radio hit "Vegetable Kingdom". Subsequent releases include Foreign Legion (2001) and The Whole Shebang (2004). The band disbanded in 2008.
