El Personal, a fusion group from Guadalajara, Mexico, was founded in 1986 by Julio Haro Gracia and Andrés "el Boy" Haro. The quintet debuted formally on November 10, 1987, at the bar El Nueve in Mexico City, blending reggae, son cubano, cumbia mexicana, bolero, and rock with irreverent lyrics. Their debut album No me hallo was released in 1988. The group became inactive in 1992 following the death of Haro Gracia, who passed away from HIV complications. Their work gained recognition, with No me hallo being listed as one of the ten essential albums of Latin Rock by Rolling Stone México.
