Transmetal, a Mexican thrash metal band, was founded in 1987 in Ciudad Azteca, Ecatepec de Morelos by brothers Lorenzo, Juan and Javier Partida along with vocalist Alberto Pimentel. Initially known as Temple de Acero, the group began performing covers before releasing their first demo, Velocidad, Desecho y Metal in 1987. This led to a contract with Avanzada Metálica and the release of their debut album, Muerto en la Cruz in 1988. The band's lineup evolved over time, with notable changes including Alberto Pimentel leaving after Sepelio en el Mar (1990) and returning for subsequent albums like El Infierno de Dante (1993), which featured Glen Benton of Deicide and was produced by Scott Burns at Morrisound. Transmetal achieved significant milestones, such as performing in the Mexican Mosh festival in 1992 alongside international acts and releasing over 30 productions.
