Olivia Charlotte Waithe, known professionally as Livvi Franc or Ei8ht, born on May 31, 1988, in Harrogate, North Yorkshire, England, is a British Barbadian singer and songwriter. She moved to Barbados at age five, where she developed an early interest in music. She wrote her first song at eleven and learned guitar at fifteen. After gaining notice through a cassette demo, she was signed by Jive Records, where she released her debut single "Now I'm That Bitch" in 2009, which topped the U.S. Billboard Hot Dance Club Songs chart and entered the top 40 in the United Kingdom and New Zealand. In 2010, she released her second single, "Automatik", produced by RedOne, which peaked at number 6 on the U.S. Billboard Hot Dance Club Songs chart. After the shelving of her album by Jive, she departed the label and signed with Beluga Heights/Warner Bros. to complete work on her debut album. She shifted her focus toward songwriting for other artists, such as Jordin Sparks, Cheryl Cole, and Rihanna. In 2023, she adopted the moniker Ei8ht and contributed with her song "Silk & Cologne" to the soundtrack of Spider‑Man: Across the Spider‑Verse, and later released the single "Rah". In 2024, she released the follow-up single "Shine!".
