Collapse Under the Empire, a German post-rock duo from Hamburg, was formed in 2008 by Chris Burda and Martin Grimm. Their musical journey began with the release of four songs for their first EP Paintball in 2009. The band's debut album, Systembreakdown, followed shortly after, was released independently. In 2010, they signed with Sister Jack Records and released Find a Place to Be Safe, which marked their international breakthrough. Notable releases include the concept albums Shoulders & Giants (2011) and Sacrifice & Isolation (2014), both of which received critical acclaim. The band's first live performance took place in 2016 at the Dunk!festival in Belgium. Collapse Under the Empire has released over 10 studio albums, including The Fallen Ones (2017) and Everything We Will Leave Beyond Us (2020). They have also contributed to various compilations and charity singles, such as "The Silent Death" for Sharkproject in 2011 and "Lost" for Rainforest Rescue in 2014.
