Britny Fox is an American rock band formed in 1985 in Philadelphia. The original lineup included Dean Davidson on lead vocals and rhythm guitar, Michael Kelly Smith on lead guitar, Billy Childs on bass, and Tony Destra on drums. Britny Fox secured a major recording contract thanks to connections with Cinderella but faced a setback when Destra was killed in a car accident in 1987. The band released their self-titled debut album Britny Fox in 1988, which achieved RIAA gold status and featured the minor hit "Long Way to Love" (Number 100). They also won Metal Edge magazine's 1988 Reader's Choice Award for Best New Band. After Davidson left in 1989, Tommy Paris joined as the new vocalist. The band released Boys In Heat and their final studio album, Bite Down Hard (1991), before disbanding in 1992 due to the decline of glam metal's popularity. Britny Fox reunited multiple times between 2000 and 2016 with various lineups, releasing new albums like Springhead Motorshark. In 2022, bassist Billy Childs formed his own incarnation of Britny Fox, which toured throughout 2023.
