Japanese singer and songwriter Morii Aimi, known professionally as Aimyon, was born on March 6, 1995 in Nishinomiya, Hyōgo, Japan. During her teenage years, she began learning the acoustic guitar and started writing songs, gradually sharing them on social media, catching the attention of the record label Lastrum Music Entertainment. In early 2015, Aimyon wrote the lyrics for the song "Time Goes By" by the Japanese group Johnny's West. Following this, she released her debut single "Anata Kaibou Jun'aika (Shine)" (貴方解剖純愛歌~死ね~) which gained recognition by entering the Top 10 of the Japanese independent charts. Aimyon signed a contract with unBORDE, a division of Warner Music Group, after releasing two mini-albums in 2015 entitled tamago and Nikumarekko Yo ni Habakaru (憎まれっ子世に憚る). In 2017, Aimyon released her first album titled Excitement of Youth (青春のエキサイトメント) which charted at number 26. Her subsequent album, Momentary Sixth Sense (瞬間的シックスセンス), released in 2019, earned her considerable accolades including the Excellence Artist Award (61st Japan Record Awards) and Artist of the Year (Billboard Japan Awards). Follow-up albums Heard That There's Good Pasta (おいしいパスタがあると聞いて) and Falling into Your Eyes Record (瞳へ落ちるよレコード) appeared in 2020 and 2022 respectively, both taking the number 2 position with the singer taking home the Album of the Year award at the MTV Video Music Awards Japan for the latter. Aimyon's success continued with a string of top 10 singles including "Her Blue Sky" (空の青さを知る人よ) (2019), "Heart" (ハート) (2021) and "My First Love Is Crying" (初恋が泣いている) (2022). She returned in 2023 with “Ai no Hana”, which peaked at number 7, and later certified Gold, releasing her 7th EP Anone (EP) on December 6.
