Sylver is a Belgian vocal trance project that was founded in Antwerp in 2000. The group originally consisted of singer Silvy De Bie (born January 4, 1981 in Heist-op-den-Berg, Belgium) and keyboardist and producer Wout Van Dessel (born October 19, 1974 in Belgium). Their music moves between vocal trance, pop and Eurodance. Sylver celebrates its breakthrough in 2001 with the single "Turn the Tide", which reaches number 2 in the German charts and is successful throughout Europe. In the same year, the debut album Chances is released, which climbs to number 2 in Belgium and reaches number 16 in Germany. The second album Little Things followed in 2003 with the successful singles "Livin' My Life" and "Why Worry". The album reached number 7 in Belgium. 2004 saw the release of the third studio album Nighttime Calls with the single "Love Is an Angel", which reached number 23 in the Belgian charts. With Crossroads, Sylver released their fourth album in 2006, which reached number 9 in Belgium; the single "Lay All Your Love On Me", a cover version of an ABBA hit, is particularly noteworthy. The album Sacrifice was released in 2009 and reached number 3 in the Belgian charts. The single "Foreign Affair" is particularly successful, reaching number 3 in Belgium. In 2010, the duo released the best-of album Decade - The Very Best of Sylver, which reached number 1 in the Belgian charts. From 2016, Sylver returned with new singles, including "Turn Your Love Around" (2017), "I Won't Wait" (2019) and "Finally Here" (2022). Sylver has received several awards. These include the German Dance Award for "Turn the Tide" (2001) and "Livin' My Life" (2003) as well as the TMF Award for the album Sacrifice (2009). Guitarist John Miles Jr. (*1971; †April 5, 2023 in Great Britain) has accompanied Sylver at times during live performances.
