The hard-rock band Dirty Honey formed in Los Angeles in 2017. Inspired by acts like Led Zeppelin and Guns N' Roses, frontman Marc Labelle, guitarist John Notto, bassist Justin Smolian, and drummer Corey Coverstone introduced their guitar-driven, hard-hitting sound with early singles like "When I'm Gone." Released in 2019, "When I'm Gone" reached Number 1 on the Billboard Mainstream Rock Songs Chart, making Dirty Honey the first unsigned band to ever top the chart. The follow-up single "Rolling 7s" climbed to Number 3 on the same chart, and both songs appeared on Dirty Honey's self-titled EP. Recorded in Australia, the Dirty Honey EP was supported by a packed touring schedule that found the band opening for acts like The Who, Skillet, Alter Bridge, and Red Sun Rising. When it came time to record a full-length album, Dirty Honey continued working with producer Nick DiDia, who had also overseen the band's EP. The resulting record, also titled Dirty Honey, was released in 2021, led by the Top 20 modern rock hit "California Dreamin'."
