Cry When You Get Older |
Swedish techno pop singer of the 1990s, with her hits 'Show Me Love' and 'Do You Know (What It Takes)', Robyn hit it big again in 2007 with the re-release of her electro-pop ballad 'With Every Heartbeat'. She originally came to attention at the age of 12 singing the theme song for a Swedish TV show and she released her first single 'You've Got That Somethin'' at the age of 16 in 1994, scoring her first major hit the same year with 'Do You Really Want Me (Show Some Respect)'. Her debut album 'Robyn Is Here' was released in 1996 and her fresh dance-pop sound earned her fame across Europe and the US. Her second album 'My Truth' followed in 1998 and although her star faded in the early 2000s, she recovered to collaborate with Kleerup on the 2007 UK number one 'With Every Heartbeat', going on to sing backing vocals for Britney Spears and supporting Madonna on tour. The first album of her 'Body Talk' trilogy, 'Body Talk, Pt. 1', was released in June 2010, with 'Body Talk, Pt. 2' in September and the third part 'Body Talk' in November. She followed the trilogy with an appearance on Neneh Cherry's 'Out of the Black' and announced a collaborative tour and album with Röyksopp. Although the death of close friend and collaborator Christian Falk put her career on hold in 2014, she returned the following year to release the pair's last record together, 'Love Is Free'. In 2017 she released the single 'Honey' which featured on the television series 'Girls'. She announced a new album for 2018 also titled 'Honey'.
