Pierce the Veil

Drummer Mike Fuentes and guitarist/vocalist Vic Fuentes, both brothers, founded Pierce The Veil in 2006 in San Diego, California, following the breakup of their previous band, Before Today, one of whose tracks inspired their new stage name. On their own, the two musicians put together a full-length album in Seattle, A Flair for the Dramatic, released in 2007 by Equal Vision Records, which had already hosted their previous project. The duo was soon joined by two new musicians, guitarist Tony Perry and bassist Jaime Preciado. After intense touring, Vic and Mike Fuentes took part in the short-lived supergroup Isles & Glaciers, before recording the EP The Hearts of Lonely People in 2010. This is just ahead of the album Selfish Machines, produced by Mike Green. The album made its first foray into the US charts, reaching number 106. Two years later, Collide with the Sky takes the post-hardcore band to the next level, this time reaching #12, thanks in particular to their hit "King for a Day" (#28 in the UK rock category). Pierce the Veil even made a foray into the top 5 in 2016 with Misadventures (#4 in the US and #17 in the UK). Following this success and that of the single "Circles" (#31 on Billboard's Alternative Airplay chart), founder Mike Fuentes decided to retire, leaving the band without a drummer. Replaced on tour by Lionel Robinson, Third Eye Blind drummer Brad Hargreaves was invited to guest on the studio album The Jaws of Life (2023), promoted by the single "Pass the Nirvana". Pierce the Veil subsequently recorded a cover of "Karma Police" (2024), followed by the single "Kiss Me Now" (2025).
