Razorlight were at the forefront of the indie-rock resurgence of the early 2000s, with hits like ‘Golden Touch’, ‘Somewhere Else’, ‘In The Morning’, ‘America’, and ‘Wire To Wire’. These successes drove three Top 5 albums, nine Platinum certifications, an NME Award, and notable performances at the Reading Festival and Live 8. After reuniting in 2021, the classic lineup—Johnny Borrell (vocals/guitar), Björn Ågren (guitar), Carl Dalemo (bass), and Andy Burrows (drums)—will release the new album ‘Planet Nowhere’ on October 25th, their first together since 2008. The band previews the album with its first single, ‘Scared Of Nothing’.
Since reuniting, Razorlight have sold out a headline tour, including a show at London’s Eventim Apollo, and supported Muse, Kaiser Chiefs, and James. Johnny Borrell aimed for more than being a greatest hits band. In late 2023, they recorded with producer Youth (The Verve, James) at Space Mountain studio in Spain. This session reignited their creativity, starting with ‘Scared of Nothing’, a track exuding taut, spiky post-punk energy, reminiscent of their early acclaim from NME.
The success of this track led Razorlight to return to Spain for a second session, crafting an extensive catalogue for ‘Planet Nowhere’. Standout titles include ‘Zombie Love’, ‘U Can Call Me’, ‘Dirty Luck’, and ‘Cool People’. Alongside creating new music, Razorlight celebrated their past with the release of ‘Razorwhat? The Best of Razorlight’ and a 20th Anniversary Deluxe Edition of their debut album ‘Up All Night’. Razorlight are back, ready to revitalize the indie rock scene.
