The rapper known as Dargen D'Amico was born Jacopo D'Amico on November 29, 1980, in Milan, Italy. He started rapping under the name Corvo D'Argento, participating in numerous freestyle battles around the city. Shortly after, he founded the seminal hip-hop collective Sacre Scuole with Gue Pequeno and Jake La Furia in the late 90s. 3 MC's al Cubo, the group's only album, appeared in 1999 and quickly attained cult status in the Italian underground rap scene. After parting ways with the group in 2001, he made his solo debut with the album Musica Senza Musicisti (2006), released through his own label Giada Mesi. A second full-length titled Di Vizi di Forma Virtù arrived in 2008 and found the MC touching on more mature themes like economic hardships, social issues, and even his own childhood. Dargen D'Amico spent the following years collaborating with like-minded acts such as Crookers, Fabri Fibra, and Two Fingerz, and exploring the different sides of his musical identity on the albums Nostalgia Istantanea (2012), Vivere Aiuta a Non Morire (2013), D'io (2015), and Bir Tawil (2020). In addition to releasing his tenth album Nei Sogni Nessuno È Monogamo in 2022, Dargen D'Amico placed ninth at the Sanremo Song Festival with the track "Dove Si Balla." The song was later issued as a single and peaked at Number 6 on the Italian charts.
