Laura Pergolizzi, who performs professionally under the stage name LP, is an American pop singer known for international hits like "Lost On You," "N'oublie pas," and "Girls Go Wild." Pergolizzi was born in Long Island, New York, on
March 18, 1981. Her debut album, Heart-Shaped Scar, was produced by Cracker co-founder David Lowery and released in 2001, followed in 2004 by Suburban Sprawl & Alcohol. Although neither album charted, LP distinguished herself as a songwriting by writing material for artists like Rihanna, Christina Aguillera, Cher and Leona Lewis. Her EP Into the Wild (Live at Eastwest Studios) reached number 6 on Billboard's Heatseekers Albums Chart in 2012, and the album album Forever for Now peaked at number 2 on the Heatseekers Chart two years later. Her true breakthrough arrived in 2017, when Lost On You went to number 17 on the UK Albums Chart and number 19 on Billboard's Independent Albums Chart. A platinum-selling hit in multiple European countries, the album was also a success in America, where its title track reached number 26 on the Adult Top 40 and number 42 on the Hot Rock Songs Chart. LP's fifth album, Heart to Mouth, was released in December 2018, reaching the Top 10 in both Poland and the Czech Republic. "Girls Go Wild," the album's most successful single, hit Number 1 that same year, while "N'oublie pas" -- a duet with French-Canadian singer Mylène Farmer -- climbing to Number 1 in France. Another album, Churches, was released in 2021, followed by Love Lines in 2023.
