Baba Ndiaye is a Senegalese rapper born in 1994 in Madina Gounass, a working-class district of Dakar. He was raised by his older brother, one of five siblings. He began writing his first lyrics at the age of nine. When he began his career, he adopted the stage name Ngaaka Blindé ("Ngaaka" means "ignorant") and quickly earned the nickname King Baba. He joined the rap group Young Star, but left in 2008 to form Oundou Yi. But the adventure turned out to be short-lived, and he went solo in 2011, releasing the track "Lepp Fay". In 2013, he won a rap competition organized by Africurban, called Flow Up. In 2015, he embarked on a tour that showcased the quality of his instruments, as he performed with organic instruments. Two years later, he put the finishing touches to the opus Jeego . In 2018, the young rapper was incarcerated for being in possession of counterfeit money. Upon his release, he released the album Secret 7, a testament to his time behind bars. It includes the tracks "I Don't Know" with guest Adiouza, "Diakhasso" and "Akci Kasso ". Then came the release of a five-track EP in 2020, of which "Vradj" is the most prominent. Wishing to support young talent, the rapper founded the Mbarakillah label. In 2023, he released "Kitoko" , followed by a collaborative track with Sidy Diop and One Lyrical, "Djiguen".
