The French singer-songwriter Jeanne Cherhal is a multi-instrumentalist who plays piano, guitar and bass. She began her musical career playing in small venues often accompanied by guitarist Éric Löhrer. Cherhal has played with a wide variety of other artists including Georges Mustaki, Thomas Fersen and Emir Kusturica, occasionally appearing as a duo with Vincent Delerm or as part of a trio with the addition of Albin de La Simone.
Slowly Cherhal built up a following for her work and the hard work paid off in 2004 with the release of the critically acclaimed 'Douze Fois Par An' which won plaudits from around the world and established her reputation as an emerging French talent. Her follow-up album 'L'Eau' released in 2006 was similarly successful and reached number nine in the French charts.
In 2008 Cherhal began a parallel career as an actress and won the leading role in two short films. Her most recent album was 'Histoire de J.' released in 2014.
