Médine (born Médine Zaouiche) was born in Le Havre, Seine-Maritime, on February 24, 1983. In 2004, the rapper released his first album, 11 Septembre, Récit du 11e Jour, a concept album evoking the attacks of September 11, 2001. He asserts his singular style, with his husky voice and his taste for narration. A few months later, he released his second album, Jihad, le Plus Grand Combat Est Contre Soi-Même . In 2008, Arabian Panther reached number 18 in the French charts. The mixtapes Table d'Écoute, Vol. 1 (No. 115) & Vol. 2 (No. 28) enable him to introduce the young artists on his Din Records label. June 2013 saw the release of Protest Song (no. 9), in which his political discourse remains front and center. Two years later, the rapper signs his most radical album, Démineur (n° 54), including the polemical track "Don't Laïk". He took a two-year break before returning to the studio to create Prose Élite (No. 11 in 2017). With his next project, Storyteller, in 2018, he reaches No. 10. In 2020, he achieves his highest ranking in the French charts with the album Grand Médine, which reaches #4. This performance was repeated in 2022 by Médine France, with the title track "Allons zenfants". The rapper, subject to controversy for his stance, returned in 2025 with a seven-track album, Stentor, Act 1, featuring collaborations with Isha and Rounhaa, ranked No. 17 in the SNEP chart.
