Megaloh, whose real name is Uchenna van Capelleveen, was born in Berlin on February 27, 1981 to a Dutch father and a Nigerian mother. He devoted himself to rap music from an early age. After graduating from high school, Megaloh, who is now part of the rap crew Royal Authority, begins studying business administration, which he abandons in favor of his music career. Together with friends, he founded the Level Eight label in 2002, which also became home to Battle Rapp. Together with him, he released the EP Game Set Match in 2003, which became Juice's demo of the month. From then on, his career took off. The artist released a number of mixtapes, EPs, singles and albums. Among other things, he appears as a guest on Fler's album Neue Deutsche Welle in 2005, before releasing his debut album Im Game in the same year. The mixtape Zeit Für Den Hund is also released in 2005 and he can be heard on the 2006 sampler Reim Geschäftlich with Samy Deluxe, K.I.Z., Jonesmann, Massiv and Basstard. The single "Tanz An Der Stange" (2006) heralds his first collaboration with Frauenarzt and MC Bogy. in 2007, he collaborated with the rapper Sprachtot on his album Alles N*gertiv, which was released on the Frauenarzt label Ghetto Musik. Collaborations seemed to be his thing over the next few years: he worked with Patrice, Fahrt, Curse and Xavier Naidoo, with whom he released the single "Alles Kann Besser Werden" in 2009. the EP Monster followed in 2010. "Niemand (Was Wir Nicht Tun)", his collaboration with Max Herre and Samy Deluxe, is released in 2011. The collaboration doesn't stop there. Megaloh releases more music with Samy Deluxe and signs to Nesola, Max Herre and Joy Denalane's label. The musician, who was still working as a warehouse worker on the side at the time, released his album Endlich Unendlich in 2013, which shot to number 9 in the German charts. his album Regenmacher followed in 2016, which he then recorded again with Afrobeat legend Tony Allen. The original version reaches number 2 in the German charts, number 12 in the Austrian charts and number 5 in the Swiss charts. 2017 Megaloh releases the EP Herb & Mango EP on SoulForce Records. in 2020, Megaloh switches to the Vertigo Berlin label, on which he releases the singles "Für Uns" (2020) and "Live & Direct" (2021). The album 21 is released in the same year and reaches number 6 in the German charts. His album Drei Kreuze reaches number 20 in the German charts in 2022. At the end of 2023, Megaloh releases the live album Megaloh und das Deutsche Filmorchester Babelsberg - Live im Nikolaisaal Potsdam, which reaches number 49 in Germany.
