Robin Miriam Carlsson, born 12 June 1979 in Stockholm, Sweden, is a Swedish singer, songwriter, producer and DJ whose career began in the late 1980s with a voice role in The Journey to Melonia and a theme song for Lilla Sportspegeln. She signed with Ricochet Records in 1993, and her debut single "Do You Know (What It Takes)" reached the Billboard Hot 100 top ten in 1997, followed by the UK‑top‑five hit "Show Me Love". Her first international album, Robyn Is Here (1995), produced those singles and established her as a dance‑pop artist. After releases in Sweden-My Truth (1999) and Don't Stop the Music (2002)-she returned to global prominence with Robyn (2005), which earned a Grammy nomination and singles "Be Mine!" and "With Every Heartbeat" (UK Number 1, 2007). In 2010 she launched the Body Talk trilogy, producing the sleeper hit "Dancing on My Own" (UK and US top ten, 2010) and three Grammy nominations. Collaborations included Röyksopp on "Do It Again" (2014) and "Love Is Free" (2015). She released Honey (2018) to critical acclaim, followed by Sexistential (2026), which debuted at Number 1 on the Swedish charts. Robyn has accumulated multiple Swedish Grammis awards, international chart success, and recognition as a key influence on contemporary pop and electronic music.
