The Jungle Giants formed in 2011 in Brisbane, Australia, where frontman Sam Hales, lead guitarist Cesira Aitken, bassist Andrew Dooris, and drummer Keelan Bijker had all graduated high school two years prior. Inspired by indie-rock, pop, and contemporary dance music, the group released a self-titled EP in July 2011. A follow-up EP, She's A Riot, climbed to Number 14 on the Australian Hitseekers Chart one year later, with the title track being named one of 2012's most popular songs by Triple J radio. The Jungle Giants achieved significant popularity throughout Australia with their full-length debut, Learn To Exist, which was released in August 2013 and peaked at Number 12 on the Australian Albums chart. 2015's Speakerzoid faired similarly well, charting at Number 25 and leading to extensive touring in both Australia and America. However, it was the band's third LP, Quiet Ferocity, that turned The Jungle Giants into platinum-selling stars, even as the band maintained its independence. Recorded in Brisbane and released in 2017, Quiet Ferocity peaked at Number 11, earned an Australian Independent Record Award for "Best Independent Album," and produced the platinum-selling singles "Feel The Way I Do" and "Used To Be In Love." Beginning 2019, the group began releasing a string of standalone singles, starting with the ARIA-nominated, gold-certified "Heavy Hearted." "Sending Me Ur Loving" and "In Her Eyes" both followed in 2020.
