Biography

Les Hurlements d'Léo are a French alternative rock band influenced by the likes of Les Négresses Vertes. They combine traditional French sounds (including an accordian) and the sounds of alternative French artists of the 1980s with ska, Latin and punk aesthetics.

An early version of the band came together in 1995, mixing it up in France's underground music scene for several years with a conventional four-piece punk set-up before expanding to a meatier eight-musician line-up for their debut album, 'Le Café des Jours Heureux' (1998). They broke out into the mainstream at the turn of the millennium with their sophomore album, 'La Belle Affaire' (2001). A third album, 'Ouest Terne', was released in 2003 and followed by 'Live' (2005), 'Temps Suspendu' (2006), '13 ans de Caravaning' (2009), 'Bordel de Luxe' (2011) and 'Les Hurlements d'Léo chantent Mano Solo' (2015).
