Alex Party was founded in Italy in 1993. The band was formed as a project by producers Paolo Visnadi and Gianni Visnadi, who also work under the name Livin' Joy. Other artists involved included Robin 'Shanie' Campbell and later Shola Phillips. Alex Party works in the house and Eurodance genres and is part of the European club scene of the 1990s. The project began its first releases in 1993. In 1994, the single "Saturday Night Party (Read My Lips)" (1994) was released, which established itself in clubs and reached the charts in several countries. "Don't Give Me Your Life" (1994) followed in the same year. The title becomes the band's biggest success and reaches number 2 in the British singles charts as well as top 10 positions in several European countries. 1995 sees the release of "Wrap Me Up" (1995), which also charts in the UK and Europe. In 1995, Alex Party released the album Alex Party (1995). The album bundles the well-known singles and establishes the group's sound. In 1996, "Read My Lips" (1996) followed, which again achieved chart positions. After the peak phase in the mid-1990s, activity declined. Alex Party disbanded in 2000.
