Biography

Jerrod Lee Niemann (July 24, 1979) is an American country singer-songwriter from Liberal, Kansas. Throughout his career, he has released numerous commercially acclaimed albums and has written songs for Garth Brooks, Blake Shelton, and Colbie Caillat, among others. He developed a passion for country music from a very young age and began his professional music career by playing in bars and clubs around Texas. In 1999, he made his official debut with the independently-released album Long Hard Road, followed by a move to Nashville a year later. After self-releasing the album Jukebox of Hard Knocks in 2004, Jerrod Niemann continued to relentlessly tour the United States with his band and finally signed to Category 5 Records, which closed shortly after the release of his first charting single “I Love Women (My Momma Can't Stand)” in 2007. Three years later, he struck a deal with Arista Nashville, and his single “Lover, Lover” soared to the top of the US Country Airplay chart. The track was included in his chart-topping major-label debut Judge Jerrod & the Hung Jury, released in 2010. Jerrod Niemann would go on to deliver three more albums for Arista—Free the Music (2012), Yellow Brick Road (2013), and High Noon (2014), which included the Number 1 hit single “Drink to That All Night”—before parting ways with the label in 2016. That same year, he joined the roster of Curb Records and cracked the Top 30 of the Country Airplay chart with the Lee Brice duet “A Little More Love.” Preceded by the single “God Made a Woman,” dedicated to his wife Morgan, Jerrod Niemann’s seventh long-player This Ride saw the light in 2017.
