Biography

Born in Atlanta, Georgia on March 25, 1989, Cody Carnes is an award-winning Contemporary Christian Music (CCM) singer / songwriter and worship pastor. He released his debut EP, The Lighter Side, in 2009 and followed that with the singles “All He Says I Am” featuring his future wife Kari Jobe (2011) and “Walls” (2012). Cody Carnes served as a pastor at Gateway Church and became involved with the Gateway Worship band. He then issued the EP, All He Says I Am, in 2014, and began to stir up some interest outside of the Dallas area. Signing a contract with the Capitol Christian Music Group in 2017, he released the single “The Cross Has the Final Word.” The single rose to Number 45 on the Billboard Hot Christian Songs chart. Two more singles – “Til the End of Time” and “What Freedom Feels Like” – reached the Top 50 before the September 2017 release of his debut album The Darker the Night / The Brighter the Morning. The album reached Number 17 and was followed by the non-album hit single “Cover the Earth” with Kari Jobe (2018). Cody Carnes’ sophomore album, Run to the Father, was released in 2020 and featured the hit singles “Nothing Else,”, “Run to the Father,” and “Christ Be Magnified.” The album rose to Number 12 on the Christian Albums chart and solidified his position as one of the most popular artists in CCM. In May of the same year, he appeared on Elevation Worship’s “The Blessing,” which was featured on their album Graves into Gardens. In 2021, he collaborated with worship singer and pastor Brandon Lake on the hit single “Too Good to Not Believe.” He also collaborated with Hillsong Worship and Reuben Morgan on the single “Hope of the Ages.” In 2022, Cody Carnes released the single “Be Glad.”
