Biography

Born on June 13, 2000 in Orlando, Florida, Javarri Latre Walker is better known as HOTBOII; a US rapper signed to Geffen. HOTBOII began flexing his rap skills as a seven-year-old and started self-releasing music with the help of his mother in 2016, first sharing tracks on SoundCloud and YouTube. After serving a two-year sentence in juvenile detention for breaking and entering, he vowed to focus more seriously on making music. After his release in 2018, he began cranking out more tracks, including his first music video for "Life of a Dog". He started showing up as a guest on other rappers' tunes in 2020, bagging features on "4PF Like Baby" by Stunna 4 Vegas and "Sick of Cell" by Rylo Rodriguez, but scored his breakthrough solo single that April with "Don't Need Time", written as a tribute to his recently deceased friend Wolph. A remix of the track featuring rapstar Lil Baby was released that August, accompanied by a police brutality-themed music video. HOTBOII dropped his first mixtape in May 2020, Kut Da Fan On, which he followed with his debut full-length album, Double O Baby, in December 2020. Taking a political stance, HOTBOII tackled themes like police brutality, and other issues relating to the Black community following the killing of George Floyd. The album went to Number 1 on the Heatseekers Albums chart and was followed by HOTBOII's second full-length effort, Life Of A Hotboii, in December 2021. Also in 2021, he joined forces with global superstar Future for the collaborative single and music video "Nobody Special".
