Thalia is an internationally renowned Mexican singer who has been performing since she was a child and gained fame in the pop group Timbiriche with whom she made four albums before leaving in 1989. Her popularity grew as she performed in wildly popular telenovelas, went on international tours and had hit records singing in Spanish, English and French. She has won a great many Latin Music Awards and she has a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.
Her 1993 recording 'Love' reached number 15 on Billboard's Latin Pop Albums Chart, 'En Extasis' (1995) went to number seven and 'Amor a la Mexicana' (1997) peaked at number two. 'Arrasando' (2000) and 'Thalia' (2002) topped the chart and the latter also went to number eleven on the Billboard 200. The single 'I Want Yo' featuring Fat Joe reached number 22 on the Hot 100. Her other number one Latin albums include 'Greatest Hits' (2004), 'Habitame Siempre' (2012), 'Amore Mio' (2014) and 'Latina' (2016). She continues to appear in telenovelas and does a great deal of international humanitarian work. In 2017 HBO aired a documentary titled 'Quinceañera' about the lives of five Latina teenagers that she co-created with husband Tommy Mottola.
